Kochi: An NIA special court in Kochi on Monday dismissed the bail plea of Swapna Suresh, a key accused in the gold smuggling case.
The court observed that prima facie there are evidences showing her involvement in the smuggling and that the charges under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act slapped against her are valid.
After the detailed hearing, court rejected the bail plea based on case diary and evidences.
Earlier, the court had asked the NIA probe team to prove the validity of UAPA charges in the case. Following this, the case diary was submitted.
