Srinagar: In heart-wrenching photos that emerged from Kashmir on Wednesday, a three-year-old boy can be seen sitting on his grandfather's body, who was killed in a terror attack on the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Jammu and Kashmir's Sopore.
The child and his grandfather were travelling in a car when the vehicle was hit by bullets in the town, which is in Baramulla district about 50 km from Srinagar.
A video of the visibly shaken boy showed him crying inconsolably when he was picked up by the police.
The Kashmir police also tweeted a photo of the child.
"Jammu and Kashmir police rescued a three-year-old boy from getting hit by bullets during the terrorist attack in Sopore," said the post by the Kashmir Zone Police.
"A civilian vehicle which was coming from Sopore to Kupwara was caught in the firing range of terrorists. An old man who was driving the vehicle stopped the car and got down from vehicle to move away for safe spot but got killed in terrorist firing. Later, the boy was rescued by police who took position nearby," the CRPF said.
