Kochi: The Kerala High Court has instructed the state government to issue passes to those stranded at Walayar check-post.
However, the verdict is applicable only for those who reached Walayar the previous day and got stranded there. The court also instructed people outside the state not to leave for Kerala without securing a pass.
The court was considering a petition filed by people stranded at the check-post.
The court said that it cannot relax the lockdown regulations in the state and so everyone will have to cooperate with the regulations.
The government had informed the court that no one can be allowed to enter the state without the required passes. Even though things are under control at the moment, if people start entering the state without passes, it would destroy the surveillance system developed by the government until now.
