Thiruvananthapuram: After a slight drop in the single-day COVID-19 cases in Kerala for the past days, it again crossed the 2,000 mark and reported 2,479 fresh cases on Friday.
Out of the new cases, 2,255 people contracted the disease through contact, informed a press statement from the office of Health Minister K.K Shailaja.
The infection source of 149 is unknown. Kerala also reported 11 deaths and 2,716 recoveries on Friday.
Among the new COVID-19 cases reported on Friday, 59 persons had returned from abroad while 71 returned from other states.
