Thiruvananthapuram: Health Minister K.K Shailaja said that despite the increasing number of coronavirus cases in Kerala, only 15 per cent of them have been found to be transmitted through contact.
The minister said that the state is now witnessing the second wave of coronavirus infection.
"The number of cases have been surging due to the flow of people into the state from abroad and other states. In the first phase, 30 per cent cases were reported through contact, but now it has reduced to half", Shailaja said.
The minister said that however, there has been no community spread of coronavirus till now in Kerala and the government is working intensely to prevent such a happening.
