Srinagar: A major terror attack was averted in Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.
Inspector General of Police of Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar, said that Jaish-e-Mohammad and Hizbul Mujahideen were behind the terror plot.
Addressing a press conference, the top cop said, "A major terror attack of a vehicle-borne IED blast was averted by the timely input and action by Pulwama Police, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Indian Army."
IGP Kashmir informed that 40-45 kgs of explosives were laden inside the car and the terrorist was expected to target a vehicle of security forces or police.
The top cop said that the police was getting information about a possible terror attack since last week.
