Coronavirus vaccine: Russia completes world's first human trial

Moscow: In a major breakthrough, Russia has become the first nation to complete clinical trials of a Covid-19 vaccine on humans, and the results prove the medication's effectiveness, according to media reports.

The total number of coronavirus cases across the world has crossed the 13-million mark and the death toll has gone past 570,000.

Given the scale this pandemic is assuming at fast pace, pharmaceutical companies and scientists are working overtime under pressure to come up with a vaccine as soon as possible.

There are currently over 100 vaccines at various stages of development worldwide, including in India, Britain, China, the U.S, Russia and Israel.
