Huawei has revealed the launch date for the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 in India. The company will announce its next mid-range smartphone in India on August 1 and Amazon India will be an exclusive online partner.
The e-commerce platform has also set up a dedicated page for the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 with a Notify Me option now available for customers who want to receive the latest updates on the device.
The Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 will be the company's first smartphone in India to offer a pop-up selfie camera. With brands like Realme, Xiaomi and Vivo offering pop-up camera phones in the affordable mid-range segment, it makes sense for Huawei to join the bandwagon to take on the competition.
The Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 also highlights a notchless display and Kirin 710F chipset, among other things.
The Y9 Prime 2019 is a mid-range smartphone that touts a premium design. On the front, the phone brings a 6.59-inch FHD+ LCD Full View display that will come without a notch or a hole-punch. The display will offer thin bezels all around while the selfie camera moves to a pop-up mechanism.
The 3D curved panel on the back will come in Emerald green and Sapphire Blue colours, Huawei has revealed.
Powering the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 is an octa-core Kirin 710 chipset coupled with 4GB of RAM. The smartphone will be offered with 128GB of inbuilt storage with support for storage expansion up to 512GB.
The Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 also features an AI triple rear camera setup that includes a 16MP main camera, 8MP ultra wide-angle camera and a 2MP depth sensor. The pop-up camera houses a 16MP selfie sensor.
The Y9 Prime 2019 houses a 4,000mAh battery and will ship with EMUI 9.1 based on Android 9 Pie.
