Nubia Red Magic 5G gaming smartphone has finally been announced by the company in China. The phone packs a 144Hz refresh rate screen and is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 865 SoC.
The Red Magic 5G is the first and as of now the only phone to have such a high refresh rate screen. It is available in four RAM and storage configurations with the top end variant coming with 16GB RAM and 256GB storage.
There are three colour options namely, Hacker Black, Mars Red, Cyber Neon, as well as a transparent edition.
The four configurations for the Nubia Red Magic 5G are 8GB + 128GB, 12GB + 128GB, 12GB + 256GB, and finally the 16GB + 256GB model. The first or the base model is priced at CNY 3,799 (roughly Rs 40,300), the second variant is priced at CNY 4,099 (roughly Rs 43,500), the third variant costs CNY 4,399 (roughly Rs 46,700), and the top-end variant costs CNY 4,999 (roughly Rs 53,000).
Interestingly, the Hacker Black colour option is not available with the top-end model and the Mars Red option is only available with the 8GB + 128GB and 12GB + 128GB variants. The Cyber Neon option is only available with the 12GB + 256GB and 16GB + 256GB variants while the transparent option is only available with 12GB + 256GB variant and costs CNY 4,599 (roughly Rs. 48,800).
The dual-SIM Red Magic 5G runs Android 10 with Red Magic OS on top. It has a 6.65-inch AMOLED FHD + screen (1080 x 2340 pixels) with a 144Hz ultra-high screen refresh rate and a 240Hz screen touch reporting rate. It has an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The phone is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 865 SoC and a custom Adreno 650 GPU.
There are three LPDDR5 dual channel RAM configurations including 8GB, 12GB, and 16GB.
Coming to the cameras, there are three on the back with the primary being a 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 sensor, an 8-megapixel super wide-angle sensor as the secondary shooter, and a 2-megapixel macro lens.
The selfie shooter on the Nubia Red Magic 5G is an 8-megapixel lens with f/2.0 aperture.
