Dani Ceballos has signed with Arsenal on a loan deal, and William Saliba has been signed for a £27 million fee.
Arsenal announced double signings yesterday, with a loan move for Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos, joining the North London side for a year on loan. Ceballos was convinced for the move by assuring him of regular playing time and a position in the starting line up.
Tottenham Hotspur had also lined up a move for him, but failed to promise him a place in the starting 11.
The 22 year old midfielder also said, the prospect of playing under Unai Emery was a major factor influencing him to join Arsenal. After the signing was made Ceballos told the media. 'I knew I had the confidence of the coach, which was very important for me from the start. The coach was the turning point in terms of me joining this massive club.
'He is a Spanish coach and he knows me from my time at other clubs. He is a really tactical coach and I think that is going to really help me to perfect my positioning.'

An 18-year-old AS Saint Etienne defender, Saliba was also announced an hour later of the other signing yesterday. Saliba is seen as one of the best defensive youth prospects in the French League.
Arsenal again pipped Tottenham , who were also after the signature of the young defender.
Arsenal have paid £27 million fee for the French defender. He has signed a long term contract with the club, but will immediately return to Saint Etienne on a season-long loan.
Saliba told the press his reason to choose Arsenal 'The history, the badge,'. Since I was little, I have been watching Arsenal play in the Champions League. And there are a lot of French players who have come through here. That really helped me to make up my mind.'
When asked why will he return to the French side on a loan deal he told 'It was important because I wanted to prove myself for another year at Saint-Etienne before I come to try and establish myself here at Arsenal. This is a big club and when you come here you need to be ready'.
Arsenal let Aaron Ramsey leave for Juventus in a free deal, after not giving him a contract extension. Their captain Laurent Koscienely has also asked the club to let him go this summer. New signings are much needed for the squad to compete for silverware next season.
With a low transfer budget of £40 million, and more than half the share is already spent. Thus, the smart transfer moves from the board will be needed.
