Singapore Open: Saina Nehwal Knocked Out After Quarter-Final Loss

Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal knocked out of the Singapore Open after losing to Nozomi Okuhara in the quarter-final match on Friday, 12 April.

The London Olympic bronze medallist went down 8-21, 13-21 against the second seeded Japanese Okuhara in 36 minutes.

Earlier in the tournament, sixth seed Saina had to work hard in her bid to avenge a Malaysia Open first-round loss to Pornpawee Chochuwong before pulling off a thrilling 21-16 18-21 21-19 win over the Thai shuttler in the second round.
