Google launches Nest Hub in India for Rs 9,999

Google on Monday launched its very first smart display - the Google Nest Hub -- in India for Rs 9,999. The Google Nest Hub is available in Chalk and Charcoal colour variants starting today at Flipkart, and brick and mortar stores which includes Tata CliQ, Croma and Reliance Digital.

To bring its Nest Hub smart display, which was previously called the Google Home Hub, in India, the Mountain View, California based tech giant has partnered with Xiaomi and it is now selling the Xiaomi's Mi Security Camera worth Rs 1,799 for free for a limited time. Interested customers can head over to Flipkart and Tata CliQ to avail this limited time offer. In addition to Xiaomi, Google has also partnered with Gaana to bring entire catalogue of music for its Nest Hub users for free.

The Google Nest Hub, which comes with a 7-inch display, is designed to control over 200 million devices from over 3,500 brands which includes the likes of Xiaomi, Syska, Oakter, LG, Yeelight, Philips and tp-link among others. It can be used for entertainment, getting recpies and getting news updates. The newly launched Nest Hub, which first made a debut last year, can stream music from YouTube Music, Gaana, Saavn, Spotify and Wynk Music. It can source food recipes from NDTV Food, Archana's Kitch and TarlaDalal.com among others. As far as news is concerned, you can watch news from popular sources which includes India Today, NDTV, and Zoom among others. You can also customise your news sources to play news from specific news channels only.

As far as the features are concerned, the newly launched Google Nest Hub comes with the company's Ambient EQ feature which automatically adjusts the screen brightness as per the ambient light in the room. The best thing about it is that it comes with Google's Digital Wellbeing features. There is a downtime feature which checks the total time that you have spent on the device and then there is the Filters feature, using which they can control the content that is display on the screen. This means that users can filter out content that they deem unfit for their kids.

In India, the Google Nest Hub competes with the Amazon Echo Show 5 is available for Rs 8,999.
